This RG58 patch lead is a short 50 ohm coaxial link with a PL259 plug soldered onto each end, ready to join one piece of radio equipment to the next. At 0.5 metre it is sized for the tidy hops inside a station or a vehicle installation, where a full length of coax would only leave a coil of slack behind the set. Both plugs are soldered to the cable, so the connection at either end is a permanent one rather than something that works loose.

The PL259 plugs screw onto the matching sockets fitted to most CB and amateur equipment, so this lead will sit between a radio and an SWR meter, or between a meter and the main feeder. Before ordering, check that both items you are joining take a PL259, and measure the gap so that half a metre genuinely reaches. Any aerial fed through it should still be checked with an SWR meter once everything is connected.
