This 30 metre patch lead is made from RG213 military specification coaxial cable and comes with a PL259 plug already fitted at each end. It is aimed at home base setups, where the radio sits indoors and the aerial is mounted some way off, on a mast, a chimney bracket or at the far end of the garden. RG213 is a thick, heavy duty coax, which is why it tends to be the cable of choice when the run between set and aerial is a long one.
- Cable: 30 metres RG213 military specification
- Connectors: 2 x PL259 plugs fitted
- Fitting: ready made patch lead, no plugs to solder
Both ends terminate in PL259, so before ordering check that your radio and your aerial or mount both take a matching socket for it. Thirty metres is generous for most base installations, and it is worth planning the route from the set to the aerial so the cable is not left coiled tightly or trapped in a window frame. As with any aerial, set it up with an SWR meter once the lead is connected and the system is complete.
