This is a 20 metre patch lead made from RG58 standard coax, with a PL259 plug fitted at each end, ready to run between a home base aerial and the set. The 20 metre length suits a loft or roof mounted aerial where the radio sits a floor or two below, or at the far end of the building. A made up lead saves cutting and soldering your own, and both ends arrive already terminated.
- Cable length: 20 metres
- Cable type: RG58 standard coax
- Connectors: 2 x PL259 plugs fitted
Both ends carry the same PL259 plug, so either end can go to the set and the other to the aerial. Before ordering, measure the full run, including the drop down the wall and a little slack at each end, as a lead pulled tight puts strain on the connectors. Twenty metres gives plenty of reach for a typical home base installation where the radio and the aerial are well apart. Once everything is connected, check SWR with a meter and tune the aerial before running any real power through it.
