The CBM 88 is a handheld CB microphone from Hi Way, made in Italy and built around a dynamic capsule the maker describes as giving a crystalline tone. It terminates in a 4 pole connector of the Alan 48/68 Midland type, so it works as a direct replacement on a set already wired that way. The reinforced cable is the detail that matters day to day, because a microphone lead in a cab spends its life being stretched, coiled and trapped against the seat.

Before ordering, check what your radio carries on its microphone socket. Count the pins and confirm the set uses the 4 pole Alan 48/68 pattern, as pin wiring is not standard across every manufacturer and a plug with the right number of pins can still be wired to a different order. Fitting is then a matter of unplugging the existing microphone and inserting this one in its place. Once you are on air, hold the microphone close and speak across it rather than straight into it for the clearest audio.
